MARTINA RADWAN started in the film industry in 1987 as a Camera Technician at ARRI Berlin, soon after which she began working as Assistant Camera to Robby Mueller, whom she assisted on Wim Wenders' Until The End of The World and U2's accompanying music video, Far Away, So Close.
In 1995, Martina moved to New York where she attended the film program at NYU, after which she continued working as Assistant Camera under other acclaimed DPs, most famously Hans Buecking (on Game of Death, which won more than 12 awards, including the Bundes Film Preis, the German Oscar) and Ellen Kuras (on Personal Velocity, a feature directed by Rebecca Miller which won the Best Cinematography Award as well as the John Cassavetes Award and Grand Jury prize at Sundance 2002). Since then, Martina has gone on to be DP on numerous commercials, documentaries, short films and music videos, as well as 5 feature films.
She was the DP on Ferry Tales, a film that was nominated for an Academy Award in 2004. She also recently completed filming a private project for Martin Scorcese as well as the feature Flannel Pajamas, which premiered at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival, and which Roger Ebert, America's foremost film critic, called “one of the wisest films I can remember about love and human intimacy.” |
